Gefördert werden sollten die Nahversorgungsnetzwerke, denn eine stringente Wertschöpfungskette vom Wald über die Sägewerke zu den holzverarbeitenden Unternehmen mit kurzen Lieferketten ist in hohem Maße emissionsarm und ökologisch. Zugleich werden dadurch die kleinen und mittelständischen Wirtschaftsstrukturen in den europäischen Regionen gestärkt.

Weiterhin fordert der Verband die konsequente Umsetzung der bioökonomischen Zielvorgaben. Bei der Bewertung von Gebäuden und Baumaterialien darf dabei auch die „Graue Energie“ nicht länger unberücksichtigt bleiben darf.

TCE spricht sich dafür aus, die Kompetenzen aller betroffenen europäischen Fach- und Verkehrskreise zu stärken und weiter auszubauen und fordert verhältnismäßige und praxistaugliche bürokratische Rahmenbedingungen. Denn die Umsetzungskriterien regulativer und bürokratischer Natur sind schließlich entscheidend für das Gelingen strategischer Ziele in Europa.
