Österreich: 20 Mio. Euro Förderung für den Holzbau (dt./engl.)

Projektanträge zum CO2-Bonus bis 7. Oktober 2021 einreichen

Austria: 20 million euros in funding for timber construction

Submit project applications for the CO2 bonus by October 7, 2021.

Last year, the Austrian National Council passed the Forest Fund. With a total of 350 million euros, the Austrian federal government will support the domestic forestry and timber industry in the coming years. In several funding calls, so-called calls, 60 million euros are to flow into timber construction over the next few years. As of now, Austrian companies and municipalities can submit project applications for the COS bonus via the website of Kommunal Kredit Public Consulting. The submission deadline for this is October 7, 2021.

Active climate protection by strengthening wood as a raw material

Funding is available for new buildings as well as additions and extensions to multi-storey residential buildings and buildings used for public purposes or for public infrastructure in timber construction with a high proportion of renewable raw materials from sustainable management ("CO2 bonus"). The purpose of the subsidy is to strengthen the use of wood as a raw material as an active contribution to climate protection.

The subsidy is calculated at 1.00 euro per kg of wood used. If other renewable raw materials are used for insulation in addition to wood, the subsidy increases to 1.10 euros per kg of wood used. The possible subsidy amounts to a maximum of 50 percent of the eligible costs. The subsidy is awarded in the form of a one-off, non-repayable grant. Only one project can be funded by an applicant per call/tender.

Further information on the CO2 bonus can be found here at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism and on the ProHolz website.
